Vintage Mid Century G Plan Sideboard Media Unit Painted Red Black Hairpin Legs
£0.01 Sold Out
Is there a more iconic name in British Mid Century design than G Plan? Probably not... G Plan was the first range of branded furniture in the UK, with the G plan Brandon range launched by E Gomme in 1953, and this paved the way for other furniture manufacturers to release their own ranges of branded furniture. Fast forward to today and everything is branded, the cars we drive, the clothes, we wear, even the new houses built are given names.
So we thought why not make a real statement and take an ordinary G Plan media unit and "brand" it with the infamous red and white G Plan logo? What you see here is the result. Painted in vivid red with a large G Plan logo, this is a real celebration of a truly British brand!
Internally there is a cupboard providing storage for vinyl, but the separators can be removed if needed. there are two drawers, one of which has a drop down front so an amplifier or TV box can be placed inside, with cutouts for wires to the rear. We've added black hairpin legs to add contrast and give it a more contemporary feel, creating a truly unique piece of furniture.

All of my furniture is prepared fully before painting. Each item is sanded and prepped to provide a solid base to work on. Doors, drawers, etc are assessed and repairs made where needed so they open and close as smoothly as possible.
All paint is applied by hand, with love. I don’t use stencils or templates, each piece is created by man and not machine. I use hard wearing paints and lacquers designed specifically for high traffic areas to give my pieces as much durability as possible. Whilst I consider my pieces to be works of art I also expect them to be functional in day to day use!
