A few years ago I salvaged a huge piece of canvas that had been used as a table top protector in an old Art School. It was covered in drips, spills, graffiti and all sorts of other wonderful marks made by hundreds of students over the years. During the Pandemic I stretched 10 canvases and made a series of paintings all saying ART in various styles of typography.
This is the last remaining piece I had and until recently I had no idea what to do with it. Whilst I didn't actually drop out of Art School, "just about scraped through Art School by the skin of my teeth" didn't seem punchy enough, so Art School Drop Out it was. Never let the facts get in the way of a good story…
As ever fully hand painted in signwriting enamel.
