Vintage Retro Mid Century Danish Octagonal Glazed Coffee Table Teak Scandi

Did you know that the sum of all the internal angles of an octagon is 1080 degrees, and that the external angles total 360 degrees? And that if squares are constructed all internally or all externally on the sides of an octagon, then the midpoints of the segments connecting the centres of opposite squares form a quadrilateral that is both equidiagonal and orthodiagonal? No? Neither did we, but that's the great thing about stylish coffee tables, you learn new stuff about geometry.

Anyway, other things to note are that this is a cool coffee table, and a little different from the norm, which we like. It's in good vintage condition, with minor signs of wear and tear. There are a few light scratches to the glass but nothing you wouldn't expect of something this age. It's stamped Made in Denmark underneath, and it's ready for a new home having had a thorough clean and polish.

Mid Century furniture is becoming more and more collectible nowadays as its design is absolutely timeless and will fit in well with most interior schemes, whether ultra contemporary or a more eclectic mix of furniture, and even the mainstream press are publishing articles about how pieces like this are becoming modern "antiques". For this reason Mid Century furniture can be a great investment for the future.
