Vintage Davos Swiss Alps Ski Resort Poster Framed by Dahne 1960s Photography
Really stylish poster from the 1960s with a photo of the popular Swiss Alpine Ski Resort Davos. We've been able to date it based on the framing information on the rear. The story behind the framer, Dahne, carries it's own story too. Dahne was reputedly a WW11 prisoner of war who was granted citizenship after the war ended, on the proviso he stayed and helped the clean up operation. After this was complete he was given freedom to leave but chose to stay, and ran a picture framing business in Bristol until his death around 1970.
It's a really cool poster and would be great for a fan of Alpine pursuits!
